The following show my skin in June 2021, when I began to experience much more discomfort and pain. While you can see that the clear hairs/filaments are beginning to cover my skin (parallel to the surface, just under the surface of the skin) it is still notably different from pictures in Fall 2021.
Because I had never before made a habit of inspecting my skin (let alone under magnification), I first needed to learn a bit about what healthy skin typically looks like. To do so, I studied a number of dermatology/dermascopy textbooks (linked below) and also viewed magnified videos that various medical estheticians and lay people put online. While I have no way of knowing if these individuals' skin represents a healthy state, their skin did seem to look like my skin in places where I did NOT experience discomfort/pain (at least to my untrained eye).
