Black wires/ tubes/mesh

I  recognize the following structures look like some kind of plastic mesh, not like a living organism (and I'm not saying they are indeed, living!). But I am increasingly convinced that they are somehow related to this whole thing, and I will post the images/video that support that suspicion soon.  My first clue: they --or seemingly identical structures--started coming out of my skin/my cats' fur... some of them also disintegrate when sprayed with antimicrobrial. Finally, and perhaps most concerningly, they appear quite similar to the hollow black tubes that (very painfully) emerge from my skin. Like those 'tubes' they often have what looks like little lights or fluorescent biofilm coming out of them.  The following pictures are from four different towns in Connecticut, and various areas in Newport (RI).

A COVERING?

The following make me suspect that some of the black structures are actually just a black coating on top of various other structures.
